Securus Technologies Renounces GTL’s Recent Campaign of False Press Releases

Securus Technologies, a reputable supplier of remarkable technology solutions for investigation, public safety, corrections, as well as monitoring products, has declared that GTL Press release published on June 7, 2016, is full of misleading and dishonest statements. GTL claims the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeals Board (PTAB) validated the Patent No. 7,256,816 while in the real sense the court case is still ongoing and PTAB has not validated the ‘816 patent. GTL is not protected for video visitation monitoring in any way since the PTAB refused to analyze all the 55 claims challenged.

GTL alleges that PTAB resolved that the firm could proceed with licensing the ‘816 patent while the fact is that PTAB simply declined to evaluate the claims. Both Securus and GTL need to prepare thoroughly for the next hearing, which might not take place anytime soon as GTL alleges. In line with its goal of serving and connecting, Securus has entered into financial arrangements and deals with corporations that use its patented technology, particularly with no license.

Mostly, the firm has entered into rational licenses with other technology companies including GTL. Shockingly, GTL is now spending millions of dollars to claim ownership of patents that belong to Securus. Richard A. Smith reacted to GTL’s recent press release by hinting that his company is ready to put up a spirited fight, and it will continue to deliver innovative technology solutions to its clients.
