One On One With Yanni Hufnagel

An emphasis on good coaching remains the general rule of college basketball. Since the sport began, it relied heavily on pure athletic talent and good coaching skills. As the years progressed and the sport of basketball advanced, it gave birth to countless NBA players that became household names. To name a few, these include Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. In spite of their natural abilities, their contributions to the sport of basketball would have never existed without the guidance of their coaches. Although athletes remain the topic of discussion in various news outlets, more attention should go to their coaches. With that being said, Yanni Hufnagel remains a talented coach.

For those unaware, Yanni Hufnagel remains one of college basketball’s most beloved coaches. This remains attributed to his natural ability to recruit and polish basketball stars such as Blake Griffin. In addition, Yanni Hufnagel grew up in a Jewish household. Moreover, Yanni lived in a diverse neighborhood filled with people from all walks of life. In addition, Hufnagel remains a native of Scarsdale, New York. While there, Yanni played lacrosse and basketball for his high school. However, Yanni Hufnagel did not make his high school’s basketball varsity team. In spite of such adversity, Hufnagel used his leadership abilities to become a commentator for the school’s team.

After graduating high school, Yanni Hufnagel attended Pennsylvania State University. While there, Yanni Hufnagel played for the school’s lacrosse team. Moreover, he played the sport exceptionally well. After attending Pennsylvania State University for one year, Yanni Hufnagel transferred to Cornell University. While he attended Cornell University, Hufnagel graduated and earned a bachelor’s degree. After graduating, he received an internship with the New Jersey Nets. For over one year, he watched the team play rigorously. In closing, it greatly influenced his coaching abilities.
